Description
The Quality Manager serves as a vital member of the manufacturing operations site leadership team reporting directly to the Plant and Operations Manager. Our unique design features enable us to provide premier and industry leading solutions. Position will be responsible for leading the Quality function for a machining and assembly operations plant. The Quality Manager will provide critical technical support to continuously improve Quality in our manufacturing processes. Moreover, you will be supported by a leadership team that values Lean Manufacturing principles and understands the value and link to achieve operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Managing Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities including: Receiving Inspection, Manufacturing support, Return Material, Control of Nonconforming Product and the Management Systems.
- Represent Quality for NPD (New Product Development); disseminate projects planning and status. Manage New Product Development Activity and ensure timely completion and communication to project leaders.
- Assist in evaluation and process engineering changes in an efficient and effective manner.
- Assist in Supplier Management and Development processes.
- Assist in development of process flow diagrams and value stream maps.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Product Engineering on product/process design, FMEAs.
- Assist and lead as needed in justification and development of ACEs (appropriation for capital equipment).
- Provide customer requirement assistance and product quality support to manufacturing, sales and suppliers.
- Support Lean Manufacturing and concepts in manufacturing and plant operations.
- Provide support for timely resolution and problem solving of manufacturing and assembly issues.
- Developing process improvements to reduce product costs.
- Statistical Analysis and testing requirements of product and processes.
- Provide leadership and mentoring of quality assurance team.
- Ensure Supplier PPAP and generation of Customer PPAP as required.
- Facilitate Customer Satisfaction metrics and tracking.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering; major in Manufacturing, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or comparable experience manufacturing
Experience and/or Training: Understanding of manufacturing finance.
- Knowledge in machining and assembly. Brake and/or hydraulic actuation product knowledge preferred.
- Possess the ability to lead and manage Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and Statistical Process Control
- Understanding of APQP and associated components, such as PPAP
- Experience in auditing and managing quality management systems.
Travel Requirements: <10%
Licenses/Certificates: Lean & Six Sigma certifications preferred.
Technology/Equipment: Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel and Powerpoint.
