About the Position

VitalPath’s Quality Control Teams ensure product and / or product components comply with specifications and quality standards. They test and inspect products against performance and integrity criteria to ensure product quality and reliability, and to determine the suitability of product release.

Shift/Schedule

  • Second shift: Monday - Thursday 3:00pm-1:30am (4x10 hour days)


Responsibilities

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as policies, procedures, drawings, and other materials related to the position
  • Work with cross-functional teams to improve the business and perform other duties as needed.
  • Completes non-conformance reports and certificates of compliance.
  • Use verbal and written communication to exchange information required to complete essential duties and responsibilities
  • Perform product or raw material inspection using microscope, pin gage, caliper, ruler, laser micrometer, and other tools or methods.
  • Perform Leak Testing, Tensile and Torque testing, and other complex testing methodologies.
  • Initiate NC’s and participate in product disposition for nonconforming material 
  • Review shop floor documentation (travelers) to ensure good documentation practices are performed by operator/technician.
  • Support in- house calibration efforts
  • Ensure product or raw material are properly segregated from defective product or raw material.
  • Resolve job related issues promptly in a manner that promotes harmony and aligns with the company’s objectives and goals.
  • Ensures equipment is calibrated and within tolerance
  • Assist with the completion of production and quality documentation
  • Support good manufacturing practices and good documentation practices throughout all phases of production.
  • Support and assist with R&D inspection efforts
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area
  • May provide recommendation or suggestion on continuous improvement.
  • Additional responsibilities as determined by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or related work experience and/or training
  • Must exhibit a willingness to work in teams and promote teamwork among other employees
  • Excellent attention to detail, including spotting product or material nonconformity
  • Highly focused and detailed oriented
  • Blueprint reading and interpretation 
  • 4+ years of medical device experience
  • 5-7 years in a quality role
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English
  • General computer skills with the Microsoft Office suite
  • Use verbal and written communication to exchange information required to complete essential duties and responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret dimensional requirements on drawing and specifications
  • Documentation review for GDP compliance
  • Ability to influence others to follow rules and regulation
  • Ability to use measuring devices like gauges, meters, calipers, and computers
  • Must be able to work with a microscope, rulers, micrometer and sit for an extended period

Preferred

  • ISO 13485 knowledge and/or Certification
  • eQMS and ERP experience
