Quality Lab Technician
Sofidel America of Haines City, FLis currently seeking a Quality Lab Technician at $16.50 an hour (Minimum 40 hours/ a week). Job Responsibilities:
Quality Tech will perform duties to audit raw material, finished products and packaging to determine conformance with quality standards, complying with instructions and prescribed routines, methods or procedures and involving the making of minor decisions. Continuously supports Sofidel’s Employee Personal Practice Policy.
- Supports Sofidel America’s Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP to promote a safe, sanitary and hygienically sound workplace.
- Work from approved quality standards, written and verbal orders.
- Perform Quality audits of product, parent rolls and finished goods for compliance.
- Enter test results in the computer and report noncompliance to Operators, Shift Supervisors and Quality team.
- Visually inspect all aspects of packaging to ensure Quality standard are maintained.
- Communicate specifications, product information, product changes and Quality issues to all Operators and Helpers on their shift.
- Assist new hires and temporary workers to recognize Quality issues and how to report them.
- Quarantine all off quality products to ensure the integrity of the inventory using the HOLD procedure.
- Train on and use all new Lab equipment and testing methods.
- Serve as a representative of the Quality Team, showing others the importance of Quality while setting a professional example for others.
- Work in and promote a true Team environment where Production, Quality, Sales, Logistics and Customer service work for the common good of the Customer.
- Support CAPA system.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager
Other duties may include
- Performing competitive testing and special testing when asked.
- Maintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules keeping work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Support quality, housekeeping and sanitation standards as well as assuring customer satisfaction
- Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
- Training employees in new and updated testing methods.
- Sort and spot check inventory as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Ability to read and understand both a metric and Imperial (In) tape measure.
- Extremely high attention to detail.
- Highly organized.
- Must be able to complete duties with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to lead a group of co-workers when needed.
- Must have sound judgment skills and the ability to make decisions based on data.
- Strong math and computer skills (Microsoft Office & SAP experience prefer)
- Must be able to plan and execute an internal audit.
- Ability to interact and communicate with co-workers, operators, and supervisors
