Quality Inspector

SUMMARY

The Quality Inspector will evaluate product conformity by measuring or otherwise comparing product to customer requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform visual and precision mechanical inspection.
• Able to use standard mechanical measuring tools (Calipers, Micrometers, Plug & Ring Gages, Gage blocks, Height gage, etc.)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, standards and specifications.
• Familiar with ANSI/ASME Y14.5.
• Proficient shop math skills, including some trigonometry.
• Ability to prepare and complete documentation such as inspection reports using Microsoft Excel.
• Good communication skills and ability to coordinate interdepartmental tasks.
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and exercise independent judgment.
• Other tasks given by Supervisor.
• Physical requirement: Able to lift 50 lbs.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Able to read, write and comprehend verbal and written English instructions.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
