Essential functions of the position include but are not limited to.
- Conduct thorough inspections of incoming purchased products to ensure compliance with drawing requirements.
- Inspect materials, components, castings, machined parts, cable assy’s, etc. to ensure they meet the required specifications and are free from defects.
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate records of all inspections conducted.
- Conduct a thorough inspection of finished products before shipping to ensure they meet the required PO and regulatory requirements and prepare a certificate of compliance for each shipment.
- Uses basic to complex inspection measurement equipment including microscopes, optical comparator and coordinate measurement equipment to set up and verify dimensions and geometric tolerances for compliance.
- Uses computer to document quality records, first article and dimensional reports, and job status, including the scanning and filing of records.
- First Article Inspection in accordance with AS9102 is a plus but not required.
- Duties and tasks are frequently non-routine.
- Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above.
- Understand and live by Mason’s ethics and business conduct policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Two-year technical degree or Certified Mechanical Inspector (CMI) preferred.
- Requires a minimum of 5 years of mechanical inspection experience.
Experience & Skills:
- Working knowledge of blueprint interpretation in accordance with ANSI/Y-14.5.
- Solid command in the use of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Proficiency in AS9102 requirement and AS9100 standards.
- Proficient in GD&T
- Great communication skills especially with production personnel, Engineering personnel (Manufacturing, Design, and Quality).
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Attention to detail and very organized.
- Ability to work effectively and independently with minimal instruction.
- In depth knowledge of shop mathematics, blueprint reading, geometric tolerances.
- Demonstrated ability to apply the use over extensive range of complex measuring equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to use basic and advanced inspection measuring equipment.
