The QC Inspector II is an intermediate inspector who performs various inspections on manufactured products requiring some technical skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performing inspections as required for the assigned area(s).
- Measuring product dimensions using hand-held gauges.
- Performing visual inspection to evaluate qualitative characteristics.
- Measuring product dimensions using visual inspection systems (e.g Smartscope).
- Following part-specific inspection plans.
- Interpreting Bal Seal purchase orders.
- Managing workflow and resources as required for the assigned area(s).
- Reporting nonconforming material.
- Interpreting and adhering to internal procedures, part drawings, and other design/process control documents.
- Creating and auditing quality records with good documentation practice.
- Occasionally, the incumbent will be asked and expected to perform various, miscellaneous, and non-standard duties as required. Such duties are diversified in nature and may be changed from time to time to suit the needs of the company.
Qualifications
Hours:
- 10:00am to 6:30pm M-F
Education Level:
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Basic computer skills (i.e. network, intranet, internet navigation, data entry).
- Retrieving required forms and documents from document control system.
- Ability to use manual gauges (e.g. micrometer, calipers, dial indicator, scale)
- Experience with visual inspection systems (e.g. Smartscopes)
- Ability to comprehend written instructions with industry-specific terms and technical concepts.
- Ability to document inspection results.
- Basic math (addition, subtraction, counting, percentages)
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English (required).
- Ability to speak Spanish (desired).
- 2+ years in a quality inspection role.
