Job Purpose
The Quality Improvement Specialist is responsible for implementing and overseeing Quality Improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of behavioral health services. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that the agency's programs and services meet or exceed regulatory and accreditation standards while striving for continuous improvement in the quality of care provided to clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as healthcare management, social work, or psychology required. Master's degree preferred.
- Experience in Quality Improvement, preferably in a behavioral health or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of relevant DMH regulations, CARF accreditation standards, and best practices in behavioral health.
Core Job Duties
- Maintain detailed records of Quality Improvement activities and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Work in collaboration with the leadership team to develop, review, and update policies and procedures to reflect best practices and compliance with regulations.
- Coordinate with QIO and agency leadership to develop and implement a comprehensive Quality Improvement strategy that aligns with the agency's mission and goals.
- Assist QIO with PQI Committee activities and projects, including creation and implementation of the agency’s PQI Plan and program performance and improvement activities.
- Adherence to all applicable evidence-based practice models.
- Orally communicate information effectively and accurately.
- Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency’s certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.
- Abide by program and agency policies and procedures.
- Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
