Job description

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Developing and utilizing Quality Improvement strategies by implementing initiatives to improve the overall quality of care, client safety, and clinical outcomes.
  • Monitoring and evaluating performance by collecting and analyzing data related to key quality indicators, patient satisfaction, and clinical outcomes. Identifying areas for improvement and recommending interventions based on data analysis.
  • Compliance and accreditation: Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and agency’s standards. Assisting in obtaining and maintaining accreditation from regulatory bodies.
  • Conduct audits, reviews, and assessments to identify deficiencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop corrective and preventive action plans.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvement initiatives. Utilizing Quality Improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma or Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycles to drive systematic change.
  • Providing education and training to staff members on Quality Improvement principles, and best practices.
  • Promoting a culture of quality and client-centered care.
  • Identify potential risks and developing strategies to mitigate them. Developing and implementing risk reduction strategies.
  • Collaborating with various departments and stakeholders to promote a culture of Quality Improvement.
  • Communicating findings, recommendations, and progress to senior leadership, clinical staff, and other relevant parties.
  • Managing data collection systems and databases to track and report quality metrics. Prepare reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate Quality Improvement initiatives and outcomes.
  • Staying updated on the latest trends, research, and developments in Quality Improvement and assurance in the healthcare industry.
  • Attending conferences, seminars, and workshops to enhance professional knowledge and skills.
  • Collecting, analyzing, and tracking clinical quality data, including compiling rates from a variety of sources including audits, incident reports, staff communications, and direct observations.
  • Work with managers and front-line staff of assigned programs to develop and implement a system of continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) for which they will be responsible for maintaining. Facilitate Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives using a team-orientated approach that includes perspectives from all staffing levels in identifying root cause(s) to challenges and in generating solutions.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary for effectively interacting with staff, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Computer proficient in programs such as MS Office, Excellent database skills, including proficiency with programs such as SPSS, STATA, ATLAS, SAS a plus.
  • Proven writing skills and good verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions is crucial.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and developing strategies to prevent errors or deficiencies.
  • Knowledge of health care delivery systems and patient care.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve problems in an effective and efficient manner;
  • Strong leadership abilities are important for overseeing Quality Improvement initiatives and assisting teams.
  • Strong knowledge of Article 31, Medicare, Medicaid, and valued based programs.
  • A strong background in research and statistical analysis, as well as quality assurance strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience with an EMR required.
  • Experience directly managing employees.
  • Understanding of qualitative data collection methods and analysis. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

A Master’s degree in a relevant field, and/or degrees in healthcare administration, quality management, nursing, or a related field are preferred. Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years progressively responsible experience in human service provision;

At least one (1) year supervisory experience. At least two (2) years’ experience providing program evaluation and quality assurance strongly preferred. Previous experience in healthcare quality or data analysis and risk management.
