DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As the QI Manager, you play a critical role in the OpEx team and the department overall. Both QI and PM have interconnected responsibilities, but also have distinct roles. QI involves developing, implementing, and evaluating Quality Improvement initiatives. This includes utilizing proven methods and tools such as process maps, fishbone diagrams, root cause analysis, and prioritization matrices used to facilitate structured problem-solving and teaching others to do the same. PM involves gathering, monitoring, and reporting program performance data. This includes creating short- and long-term plans, setting targets, delegating, and tracking tasks, reporting progress, and achieving desired outcomes. Facilitation includes asking good questions, encouraging participation, and coming to consensus. You blend the technical skills of process improvement with the art of facilitation. As a team lead, you will also foster a team environment, direct work, and ensure consistency.
