Quality Engineer

As a Quality Engineer you will provide leadership and expertise in quality and the manufacture of industrial paints and coatings. You will provide more rigor to our quality processes to promote improved corrective action management both for customer complaints and manufacturing issues. The Quality Engineer will focus on our effectiveness metrics which are a direct measure of how well we meet our customer's expectations as defined in the PPG Quality Policy.

Key Responsibilities

             Analyze First/Second run capabilities for production batches to develop improvement plans to improve QC lab throughput and to reduce customer complaints.

             Lead problem solving activities for defective batches identified in the field and for batches that are processing abnormally with the goal of reducing customer complaints and sub-standard product generation.

             As a trained and certified lead auditor, conduct all types of internal audits: management system, manufacturing process, product, and layered process audits.

             Oversee the quality program documentation such as procedures and work instructions to be compliant for ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.

             Develop and implement an improved gage R&R program for the QC equipment at the plant

Qualifications

             BS in Chemistry or Engineering

             Minimum of 5 years of experience

             Experience with an external facing role with customers and/or suppliers.
