Our customers are the leading OEM’s and researchers in high tech fields such as semiconductor, photonics, biomedical, aerospace, astronomy, metrology, scientific instrumentation, and scientific research in microscopy and beam lines.

We have an immediate opening for a Quality ControlTechnician to work in our advanced manufacturing department based in our Hopkinton, MA location. You will also be expected to work up to 50% of your time in our Nashua, NH location. This is a full-time role, Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm.

A Quality Control Technician needs perform standardized quality checks on our company's products to ensure they meet the required legal and company standards for safety and quality, and that non-conforming products do not continue through the production process and are not distributed to customers. In this role, you will conduct quality inspections throughout production, including incoming, in-process and final inspections. During these inspections, you will use a variety of precision measuring tools to ensure that products follow specifications. You will also maintain the equipment calibration database, prepare test data, perform process audits, and identify areas for quality improvement. Applicants should have manufacturing or machine shop experience.

To ensure success as a Quality Control Technician, you should have a strong working knowledge of mathematical concepts, excellent visual awareness, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

What You Will Do:

  • Inspect goods or products according to documented specifications.
  • Develop and maintain inspection records and databases.
  • Collate test data and create quality reports.
  • Ensure test equipment is calibrated and working correctly.
  • Report quality anomalies via the company quality processes.
  • Identify potential areas for improvement in Quality Control processes.
  • Ensure production is not hindered by quality testing procedures.
  • Perform audits in support of ISO 9001 quality system.
  • Support production activities as required to achieve the goals or the entire department
  • Ability to cooperate with others in a team effort to achieve quality, safety and productivity goals
  • Follow 5S and lean manufacturing principles and practices in an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment.

What Have You Done:

  • Associate degree in a technical field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
  • Manufacturing or machine shop experience preferred.
  • Ability to read technical drawings / analyze and interpret technical information.
  • Experience as an Inspection or Quality Technician preferred
  • Understanding of advanced mathematical concepts. (Statistics, trend analysis,
  • Ability to use a variety of precision measuring tools, including micrometers and calipers.
  • ISO 9001, Six Sigma, 5S / 8D training, problem solving, kaizen experience preferred.
  • Strong computer skills and experience using Microsoft Office (including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Enterprise business systems / tools, etc.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work activities.
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical and pneumatic systems.
  • Strong oral and written communication and organizational skills.
