Position Description/Overview

AZZ has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Control Team Lead at our Garland Texas plant. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will be responsible for routine inspections of standard parts, units, equipment, and materials while following quality procedures. This is a small office environment, and you’ll get an opportunity to assist with customer service functions when needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture
• Set clear team goals
• Delegate tasks and set deadlines
• Oversee day-to-day operation
• Monitor team performance and report on metrics
• Motivate team members
• Discover training needs and provide coaching
• Listen to team members’ feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts
• Suggest and organize team building activities

Qualifications

• Proven work experience as a Team Leader or supervisor
• In-depth knowledge of performance metrics
• Good PC skills, especially MS Excel and Power Point
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Organizational and time-management skills
• Professional Decision-making skill
• 3+ years’ experience in inspection and quality in a manufacturing environment.
• Former Lead or Supervisory experience preferred.
• Thorough knowledge and use of Micrometers and Calipers.
• Military background preferred.

Minimum Education

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
