Job Description
Albemarle Corporation is looking for a Site Quality Control Lab Manager for its Magnolia, AR location. This position reports to the Site Supply Chain Services manager. The Lab Manager is responsible for oversite of QC lab overall operations and it's infrastructure need to support Quality Control for plant operations and eventual customer shipments. Because of the wide scope of communication needs, the candidate must have good interpersonal skills in dealing with a diversified group of managers and coworkers across manufacturing, business and 3rd parties.
Mission:

• Safely execute function of sample handling, analytical testing and accountability of integrity of results of in process and finished goods in accordance with HS&E and ISO standards to support plant operations.

Main Responsibilities:

• Site QC lab operations and related infrastructure.
• Maintain cost center ownership with responsibility of budget compliance
• Resource for specifications for capital improvements for area
• Accountability for CIT efforts for responsible areas
• Manage lab employees along with yearly performance review duties
• Ensure group's timely response to customer inquiries and complaints.
• Ownership of procedures for responsible areas
• Perform Management Engagement audits and procedure reviews as required

Essential Qualifications:

• 2 yrs of college level Chemistry education - proof of education required.
• Chemistry background
• 5 years of experience working in Analytical chemistry environment
• Daily experience with Excel, SAP, Sharepoint, Teams and Outlook.
• Broad background in analytical instrumentation and techniques (GC, IC, FTIR, color methods, and wet chemistry, etc.)
• Experience in Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) with ability to extract/interpret data
• Capable of performing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Capable of developing leadership relationships with a wide variety of individuals.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Chemistry Degree B.S or higher
• 5 years' experience in Analytical Lab leadership role
• SAP experience
• Experience with ISO 9001:2015
• Good organization and task oriented
• Able to interface with multiple personalities in a consistent, professional manner
• Strong motivational skills.
