POSITION SUMMARY:
Under limited supervision the Quality Control Inspector Lead prioritizes, assigns and leads product and first article acceptance activities from incoming, roaming, in-process, and final inspection in support of IPC-A-610 standards. Employees in this job classification oversee non-conforming material processing and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes, including maintaining inspection files, supporting supplier corrective actions, participate in and inspect first article builds. Additionally, this position will assist in training floor personnel associated with established Quality Management Systems (QMS), IPC-A-610 standards and working with engineering on product issues and new product process development. This job class requires knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control concepts and methods, the ability to read and interpret method sheets, customer drawings, engineering methods, IPS-A-610 board and mechanical standards.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
1. *Oversee and perform incoming inspection on circuit boards, verify suppliers have built Fab's per drawing and customer requirements and IPC -600 standards;
2. * Oversee and perform in-process and final inspection on printed circuit boards and mechanical assemblies, identifying defects according to IPC-610 standards and customer requirements;
3. *Oversee and perform mechanical and electrical incoming inspections using drawings, customer specification, and verify receipt of documentation needed per customer requirements;
4. *Oversee and perform final inspection on cable assemblies in according with IPC-620 standards and customer requirements;
5. *Oversee and perform in-process and final inspection on medical assemblies, verify information is correct per customer requirements and ISO 13485 standards;
6. *Train QCI's and others on AQL requirements, CMMS, inspection methods, customer requirements, and regulatory requirements such as ISO9001, ISO 13485, and UL standards;
7. *Oversee the NCMR program, review NCMR's, scrapping of defective products, maintain collection of data and reports, verify process is compliant to policies and procedures;
8. *Partner with Engineering and Account Management on customer and supplier quality issues;
9. *Review customer approved First Article's, verify conditions/specification have been achieved;
10. *Review and verify product documentation, to include deviations, ECO, MCO, and MPN revisions;
11. *Attend customer meetings (NPI, RMA, QBR's, Quality Circle, etc.) facilitate internal and external third party audits, site visits and supplier audits as required;
12. *Assist management with implementation of the Corrective and Preventative Action procedures;
13. *Perform process, procedure and method audits as assigned to ensure policies and procedures are being followed and compliant to all applicable standards and regulations;
14. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• One or more years of experience in inspection activities with broad knowledge of electro-mechanical assembly, cable manufacturing, rack assembly, and medical device manufacturing;
• Ability to use basic QC measuring and testing equipment;
• Knowledge of IPC-A-610, ANSI/J-STD, ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 Standard, component and value marking, color codes, and mechanical inspection techniques preferred;
• Soldering skills with fine pitch soldering ability preferred;
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, customer specifications and Fab drawings;
• Familiarity with FDA Quality System Regulations for medical devices preferred;
• Ability to work independently and provide guidance to other inspectors with minimal supervision;
• Ability to communicate effectively and respond to questions and requests from team, customers and others;
• Effective written communication skills using appropriate business English;
• Human relations skills to maintain effective working relationships with team;
• Effective customer service skills;
• Intermediate computer literacy including knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software;
• Basic mathematical ability including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division;
• Demonstrated customer service, problem solving and common sense skills.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Associates
Bachelors in Business Administration or related field
High School Diploma or GED

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance:

• Maneuvering in and around the worksite
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed primarily in an office environment with limited privacy and exposure to noise from others conducting business. The remainder of work is performed on job sites in the field, driving to and from worksite. Employees may be exposed to hazardous equipment, toxic substances, noise from equipment, and depending on external weather conditions, wind, rain, cold, and heat.
