Hino Motors Manufacturing is an OEM that assembles trucks in West Virginia, automotive components in Arkansas, and operates a parts distribution center in California.

We are currently seeking a Quality Control Supervisor for our manufacturing facility located in Marion, Arkansas reporting directly to the Quality AM. This position is responsible for supervising all hourly team members. This position is responsible for managing Quality Control functions by ensuring effective communications of Quality Control and quality assurance information with other HMMAR departments. This position will ensure that all hourly team members are directed to provide quality results documentation in an efficient manner to feed information to management and other departments. This position will support & facilitate all Containment Activities and support and implement short- and long-term countermeasure activities that support reoccurrence prevention. This position will Audit Past Countermeasures to confirm effectiveness and communicate results to necessary depts for continuous improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities'

  • Responsible for placement of hourly QC Team Members to ensure quality checks in an efficient manner to prevent / resolve any quality concerns.
  • Maintain QC Team Member Training Matrix and strive to have all QC team members trained on each job in QC.
  • Work with Team Leads to ensure QC team members are positioned on jobs per the training matrix and are qualified to perform task assigned in efficient time.
  • The Quality Supervisor will report directly to the Quality Asst Manager. Will assist Quality Engineers and Quality Manager as needed.
  • Will be responsible for ordering any supplies in the quality department that is used by the team members.
  • Issue NCRs for any nonconformities found during quality checks.
  • Will monitor quality team member performance and coach or take disciplinary action if needed.
  • Will perform work assigned to the quality team member in case of shortage of team members.
  • Is responsible to perform time studies to improve efficiency of the quality department.
  • Will investigate quality concerns to determine if condition is to the print or nonconforming.
  • Create, implement, & audit work instructions
  • Train TMs on work instructions

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma & Preferred 5 year’s production related work experience in welding, machining and/or assembly in an automotive manufacturing environment or similar field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of functions of automobile parts and their overall quality requirements
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple assignments in order to meet deadlines/targets.
  • Ability to identify and effectively resolve problems, based on data collection and analysis, to determine root cause.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Supervise hourly team members to insure they are working efficiently.
  • Knowledge of quality test equipment.
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar process concepts, primarily through hands on work, observation skills.
