SUMMARY

This role involves overseeing Quality Control operations in a seed lab alongside supporting Inside Sales functions. Responsibilities include sampling, grading, testing, and documenting seed product results. Candidates should be adept at creating sales tickets, managing retail sales counters, and demonstrating a deep understanding of pricing and product offerings. Additionally, candidates should actively cultivate lasting, profitable relationships with local Enid customers, including walk-ins and retail clients, by sharing agronomic expertise and driving product sales to enhance yearly performance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Efficiently operate Quality Control seed lab and ensure current inventory tests.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of seed quality samples and results, updating systems promptly.

• Manage sample inventory, files, records, and reports, including physical sample pulling as needed.

• Assist warehouses in optimizing seed cleaners, conduct field scouting when necessary.

• Generate royalty payment reports, ensuring timely processing with Accounting.

• Maintain a clean, organized workspace, handle multi-line phones, and support customer needs.

• Assist with inventory management, order processing, and in-house sales using Strinos systems.

• Utilize strong product and agronomic knowledge to drive in-house sales and support customers.

• Identify and pursue new sales opportunities to benefit Johnston Seed Co and its customers.

• Availability to work some Saturdays.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Preferred Associate degree in related field or minimum three years of agricultural industry sales experience.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and information systems/software.

• Strong organization, project management, and time management skills.

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with ability to collaborate effectively.

• Demonstrated ability to make sound judgments, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills, with ability to analyze data.

• Outstanding customer service skills, creativity, and proactive problem-solving abilities.

• Competent in operating tools, equipment, materials, and supplies safely and efficiently.

• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and sitting for extended periods.

• Willingness to pursue ongoing education opportunities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
