Quality Control Chemist

Our client, an industry leading chemical manufacturer, is seeking a Quality Control Chemist to assist with testing.

This role will be performing routine analytical testing of raw materials, in-process samples and finished products along with wastewater sampling/adjustments. Must be able to follow SOP's adequately and perform triplicate assessments on testing procedures.

Primary Objectives and Responsibilities:

The following required skills must be performed safely, promptly and accurately.

• Compliance with safety, health and environmental (SHE) protocols and procedures including wearing proper PPE

• Adherence to the Code of Conduct while conducting all company business

• Performing in-process and finished product testing on products

• Completion of laboratory records and other documentation correctly following good documentation practices

• Communication with the Shift Production Supervisor of in-process batch adjustments based on analytical test results

• Effective communication within QC and with all other business units and customers, when required

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in a science discipline; Chemistry preferred

• Prefer:

o familiarity with basic laboratory equipment preferably (GC/LC/FTIR) and techniques (titration; liquid-liquid partition)

o previous laboratory experience

• Must have basic computer skills including familiarity with spread sheet programs

• Must have strong math and analytical problem solving skills

• Must have 3 years of previous work experience

• Must be a self-starter who is motivated to do what is necessary

• Must be well organized

• Must be able to speak, read and write English proficiently
