Quality Control Assistant

MM Direct has an immediate DIRECT HIRE opportunity for aQuality Control Assistantfor a large carbon steel processor in the Southern Indiana area. This is a 1st shift position. Hours are 8am-5pm Monday-Friday. Pay starts at $18.00 per hour and is BOE.

The Quality Control Assistant is responsible for providing customer service and quality support by assisting with tracking, testing, implementing quality policies, assisting with inquiries, and the coordination of testing samples in the lab from various processes.You will also be required to assist in the special customer requests and issue resolutions based on root cause and analysis.

Job Duties:

• Perform thorough examinations of all materials and finished products.
• Conduct and report internal audits and evaluations.
• Implement and improve Quality Control operating procedures.
• Participate in routine visual inspections.
• Answers customer complaints both verbally and in writing
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Be able to complete Audits and corresponding paperwork related to ISO 9001 Certifications.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous work experience in Quality & Inventory Management or other related fields
• Excellent communication/cooperation with Production and Sales Dep.
• Strong analytical thinking and Managing skills
• Spontaneous attitude to solve any problem/issue
• Well-organized / Management
• Forklift and overhead crane

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or 3-5 years directly related work experience in the steel or metals industry.

Experience:2 years of experience in a heavy manufacturing setting or similar heavy industry.

Computer Skills:Proficiency in a Windows operating environment, including e-mail.
