Job description

Under the supervision of the Assistant Manager of Quality, the Quality Control Administrator is responsible for assisting the Quality and Operations Departments in ensuring all products meet and exceed quality and safety requirements specified by the company and all applicable regulatory agencies.

Primary Responsibilities And Essential Functions
Supports Corporate Quality Department with maintaining product quality and safety, regulatory requirements, licensor requirements, co-packer conformance, juice industry standards and updates, and R&D.
  • Enters all necessary batch data is properly entered in the company’s database for all co-packers and ensures correct documentation is correct and complete.
  • Maintains the hold log associated with the “Soft and Hard” Hold Program and forwards log to appropriate stakeholders, daily.
  • Acquires and enters data pertaining to waste, defects, downtime, etc. and publishes weekly/monthly reports.
  • Acquires and enters data used for trending and reporting functions, such as waste amounts, defect levels, downtime, etc., on a weekly or monthly basis.
  • Assists in periodic internal/external audits of co-packers, vendors, and distribution centers by producing final reports that include corrective/preventive actions and following up to ensure actions are implemented and functional.
  • Assists remote teams by researching batch information, collecting data, and relaying information between corporate and remote personnel, as needed.
Assists in product testing for both Research & Development and 3rd party laboratory testing.
  • Assists in setting up and staging of materials for shelf-life studies or R&D sensory testing, such as acquiring product, incubating, and removing product, along with collecting data during the panels and preparing final reports.
  • Acquires product samples for raw materials and finished product to conduct 3rd party laboratory testing by attaining, packaging, and shipping materials on a quarterly or annual frequency, or as necessary.
  • Owns the integrity of the Retention Library by organizing and maintaining samples, and destroying old samples.
Education/Experience
  • 2- or 4-year college degree in a science related field (i.e. microbiology, food science, food technology, biology, etc.)
  • 1-2 years’ experience in the food industry or science related field (i.e. microbiology, food science, food technology, biology, etc.), preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent in oral and written communication
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and stoop, bend, lift, twist, and stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish, preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% by plane or automobile
