Job description

The Compliance Coordinator will be responsible for ongoing review of medical records and concurrent review to ensure compliance with established nationally recognized quality patient outcomes (e.g., Core Measures, Hospital-Acquired Conditions). This individual must assume a leadership role and be able to work well with medical staff, nursing and other ancillary departments. This is a position that requires attention to detail and ability to function well under stress.

Position Qualifications

Education:

  • RN required

Certifications/Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in nursing with at least 1 year experience in a relevant clinical role preferred. Previous performance improvement experience preferred.
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse required

General Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the Medical Staff Peer Review process including agenda, minutes, tracker, correspondence, case screenings, and case reviews.
  • Serves as subject matter expert of relevant Quality applications i.e. Quality Net, Joint Commission data entry platforms, Premiere and enters data accordingly, by deadline.
  • Reviews quality related fallouts and provides information to stakeholders and recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintains assigned dashboards and reports data driven opportunities and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Reviews cases i.e. mortality, sepsis, general quality of care in a timely manner, disseminates information to stakeholders, leads relevant meetings, and makes recommendations for improvement.
  • Partners with Nursing, Medical Staff, Leadership, and others to identify areas needing performance improvement.
  • Collaborates with Clinical Documentation Improvement staff and refers cases to stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Other performance improvement duties i.e. Smart Plan development, accreditation/regulatory preparedness as assigned.

  • Team Member is accountable for areas of responsibility meeting regulatory requirements including but not limited to maintaining annual TB testing, completing annual mandatories (ALC and competency), and maintaining current registration/certification/licensures as appropriate to position requirements.
