Quality Assurance Technician - Pyrothin Qualification Specialist performs specialized testing to determine physical characteristics of materials for quality control and process control by performing the following duties:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assures all job activities adhere to company Environmental, Health and Safety requirements
  • Cooperates with other personnel to achieve departmental and interdepartmental objectives and maintain good employee relations
  • Performs dimensional testing in specialized measuring equipment.
  • Performs sample preparation and compression testing on specialized equipment.
  • Responsible for generation of CoA AND CoC
  • Working with production and finishing to ensure mechanical sampling is conducted per standard testing plan.
  • Escalates calibration and repair of instruments to the appropriate designee.
  • Performs quality control checks on instruments and equipment and identifies mechanical problems.
  • Performs various test procedures on incoming raw materials, in process materials for production, and finished product
  • Checks supplies on a regular basis and requests supplies as necessary to keep materials on hand at all times.
  • Submits written and oral responses to out of control test results, escalating when appropriate.
  • Enters complete and accurate data records into electronic data management system
  • Operates and maintains lab equipment, and able to troubleshoot malfunctions
  • Maintains good housekeeping standards in work environment
  • Operates with little or no supervision, self-motivated
  • Prepares chemical solutions and standards according to standard formulas.
  • Records data in spreadsheets
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer skills required: Accounting Software; Inventory Software; Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Hands on experience with analytical equipment such as balances, mechanical test equipment, and chromatography is desirable
  • Basic knowledge of statistics and control charting desirable

  • Frequently works around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals
  • Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions
  • Occasionally exposed to extreme heat or cold (non-weather)
  • While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually Moderate
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
