Position Summary:
It is the responsibility of the Quality Assurance Inspector to inspect and test select purchased and manufactured products for compliance with purchase orders, engineering drawings, engineering specifications, work instructions and Company quality standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspects and tests select purchased and manufactured components and products for compliance with purchase order specifications, engineering drawings and specifications, work instructions and SI quality standards.
- Inspects products using measuring machines, including a sophisticated Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
- Tests incoming raw materials.
- Accurately records and reports inspection results in accordance with Company procedures.
- Prepares and completes non-conformance and other department related reports for data collection.
- Identifies defective parts and quarantines such parts from production flow.
- Recommends changes and updates to quality policies and procedures in conjunction with the quality supervisor, production supervisor, machine shop supervisor, quality engineer, and others as appropriate.
- Transfers inspected parts and material to next work station, or to stock location, in a timely manner.
- Prepares and makes reject decisions for scrap list review in conjunction with production supervisor, quality engineer, and others as appropriate.
- Coordinates and collects gauges to be calibrated by gauge calibration service.
- Accurately and completely enters inspection data into electronic databases and ERP system.
- Cross trains on different job tasks within the department.
- Reworks parts as necessary.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Works overtime as necessary
Requirements

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
- A post-secondary advanced manufacturing certification or credential (e.g. Mechatronics) is desirable.
- Experience operating a CMM is preferred.
- Job training in basic CAD reading, knowledge of proper use of common inspection equipment is required.
- Experience in fluid power industry and/or manufacturing environment is preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have excellent knowledge of ERP software, spreadsheet software and word processing software; SAP experience is a plus.
Other Requirements:
- Possesses knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques and documentation.
