Quality Assurance Lead

SUMMARY
Under the guidance of the QA Manager, the Quality Assurance Lead will be responsible for testing of the firm's software applications running on diverse technologies, and projects driven by business growth, technology transformation and re-architecture initiatives.

MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISION
The Quality Assurance Lead will lead a team of Quality Assurance specialists, including offshore consultants. The QA Lead is expected to interface effectively with IT PMs and business users at all levels of management and might occasionally be asked to act as a "back-up" for QA management.
JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Plan, coordinate and execute QA testing for a portfolio of applications and business/technology transformation efforts across Custody, Asset Servicing, Securities Lending and Foreign Exchange lines of business.
2. Interact with business, project management, release management and development teams.
3. Coach, lead and mentor other team members, including offshore consultants. Participate in knowledge transfer with the team and business units.
4. Follow Software Testing Life Cycle:

• Review Business and Functional Requirements, Technical Design Documents, Release Notes and Impact Documents.
• Estimate Test Design and Test Execution efforts; assign Complexity and Priority to test cases.
• Create, review and approve Test Plans, Requirements Traceability Matrix, Test Scenarios/Cases, Test Summary Reports.
• Execute Test Cases, document Test Results, identify and log defects.
• Follow through with development to resolve, retest and close defects.
• Create daily and weekly test progress summary reports.

Coordinate testing with vendor offshore QA Team, assign daily tasks and gather daily statuses. Escalate issues when necessary.

Analyze defect leakage to UAT and Production and take corrective action, escalating as needed, to resolve and prevent future production incidents.

Propose Hardware & Software upgrades for QA Tools or necessary improvement methods.

Participate in planning, estimating, budgeting and resourcing of staff towards successful implementation of projects.

Identify opportunities to enhance testing efficiency and drive test automation.

Perform data staging and verification by creating SQL queries and utilizing tools such as SQL Server Management Studio.

Perform cross-browser testing.

Performs all functions as assigned by management

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Business or related field.
2. 8 years of hands on experience in Software Quality Assurance in the Financial Services Industry.
3. 3 years of experience in leading/coordinating work with an offshore team.
4. Experience in testing SWIFT messages.
5. Strong, hands on knowledge in QA life cycle and experienced with test and defect management tools such as ALM Quality Center and JIRA.
6. Working knowledge of test automation and performance tools such as UFT, Selenium and Jmeter.
7. Successfully multi-task across project and non-project assignments, delivering on time with direction on priority from QA Manager.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. Knowledge and experience in Global Custody, Securities Processing, Foreign Exchange, Securities Lending, and Corporate Actions processing
2. Experience with testing web based applications, report generation and content validation.
3. Hands on experience with building SQL queries for test validations and data staging.
4. Proficient in data manipulation and back-end testing.
5. Team player with excellent communication skills willing and able to drive collaborative efforts across the QA organization to improve product quality.
6. Occasionally support over the weekend/put in extra effort to complete testing deliverables as and when needed.
7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
8. Proficient with MS Office tools.

"NICE TO HAVE" REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

1. Experience using one or more languages such as Python, Java, VB, JavaScript, C, C
2. Able to read and analyze code for potential bugs
3. Experience with FIS products (Global Plus, Global One, WorldLend), TCS Products (BaNCS, Channels) is desirable
4. Industry-recognized certification in the areas of Quality Assurance and testing (e.g., ISTQB or CQE) helpful
5. Testing in Cloud-based environment
6. Testing in Agile environment
