We’re currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Quality Assurance Lead to join our growing team. Hours: 6:00am-6:30pm 12 Hour Continental – rotating schedule for entire year - Work Half the Year! Sun Mon Tues Wed Thurs Fri Sat Week 1 OFF ON ON OFF OFF ON ONWeek 2 ON OFF OFF ON ON OFF OFF WHAT YOU WILL DO The QC Technician Lead will direct cross-functional teams (Quality, Manufacturing, Maintenance) through problem solving exercises to identify root cause of non-conformance events. Lead the lab in communication across all teams and functions. Display ownership of key lab systems to support cGLP, cGMP, and cGDP requirements. Responsible for training QC Technicians on PVM processes and systems. Provide productivity improvements, technical support and developing quality solutions for all new and existing processes. Generate daily/weekly non-conforming material reports with expected ownership of the shift. Represent the lab in a leadership setting and communicate across all value streams to maintain a ‘one team’ environment. This position is also responsible for inspecting, testing, and auditing production areas and processes to ensure GMP compliance, as well as GLP compliance in the lab. Conduct walk throughs of manufacturing value streams, perform lab testing with analytical instruments and wet chemistry knowledge.Monitor and collect qualitative/quantitative data for all products to ensure that products meet specifications. Review data for trend analysis, recommend and participate in continuous improvement projects based on trend findings. Ensure testing is performed accurately per test methods and lab standards.Primary point of contact to resolve quality and food safety issues. Lead troubleshooting exercises using problem solving tools such as root cause analysis, 5 Why, and fishbone. Perform risk assessments to determine extent of escalation required.Leads technical communication of information in shift team meetings and with cross-functional shift team members as assigned. Support technical, quality and food safety, continuous improvement, cost reduction, and R&D projects as assigned. Ownership of QC lab systems and processes, including documentation, training, and updating processes as needed. Assist in implementing new process controls to increase productivity and efficiency in the lab. Implements real time training when warranted and communicates with supervisors for escalation.Ensure adequate monitoring of processes throughout shift. Perform walk throughs to monitor and approve equipment sanitation, start up and performance. Perform and monitor GMP checks to identify trends, work with cross-functional teams to determine and implement corrective actions.Ownership of the shift. Provides insight and documents problems that arise with quality and safety as the main goal. Sharing these findings in a weekly report. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU Bachelor’s degree required in science field (chemistry, food science, biology)HACCP, PCQI, Auditing, ASQ, or FSSC 22000 certification a plus3 or more years of relevant work experience (preferably in a food manufacturing facility)Effective written and oral communication skills, ability to communicate across all levels of the organization clearly and effectively.Working knowledge and use of computers is essential to this role. Intermediate level in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications.Knowledge of statistical process control techniques and their application to process control and continuous improvements.Ability to perform routine in-process production testing and testing of raw materials and packaging. Able to prepare samples for testing.Sound decision making, analytical and organizational skills.Knowledge of good manufacturing practices and basic food safety principlesKnowledge of good laboratory practices, techniques, and testing/sampling methods.Ability to effectively plan and prioritize work tasks, excellent time management skills.Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to manage difficult and challenging situations in a fast-paced environment.Ability to be flexible with extended work hours. Rare, but occasional overtime will be required.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and present and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Understanding of how to work in a safe and responsible manner, exercising caution to avoid accidents, prevent injury to people, or damage to equipment.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Must be able to wear hearing protection in designated areas.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and peripheral vision.
