Individual will work within different data sets in the areas of quality, operations, technology, and supply chain to assess trends e.g. strengths, weaknesses and risks. Activities will include data migration, collection, reporting and analysis to support related continuous improvement projects to facilitate meeting company goals and objectives.

 

This role will be onsite in Lexington, KY.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Work in cross-functional teams with different data sets in quality, operations, equipment, customer satisfaction, technology and supply chain to identify trends (strengths, weaknesses and risks), perform efficiency/ capability studies, and support related continuous improvement projects.
  • Develop reports and visualize data (dashboards) Track and report Quality Assurance metrics, e.g. customer claims, defects, complaints, and generate appropriate reports.
  • Use SQL/R Studio Power BI, Mini-tab, excel as needed, with guidance.
  • Work with process engineers and Quality Assurance personnel relating to:
    • Data analysis, generate statistical reports to identify trends leading to data-driven decision making and improvement. Support cost of poor-quality improvement projects.
    • Special projects related to organizational initiatives, support other groups with data requests, etc.
  • Work within other non-QA company databases and record storage systems.
  • Track Quality Assurance metrics, e.g. customer claims, defects, complaints, first pass yield, etc. and generate appropriate reports.
  • Position will be primarily in an office setting, with up to 10% travel to manufacturing, warehouse, supplier and/ or customer sites.

What You’ll Need

  • Actively enrolled in a university studying Computer or Data Science 
  • Must have excellent computer skills, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Microsoft applications: Excel, Teams, Visio, MS Project, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Power BI, database activities.
  • Ability to work seamlessly with all levels of the organization, management, hourly & salaried employees, technical managers, and other department employees.
  • Must have excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Some industry problem solving methods (8D, DMAIC, Cause & effect diagrams, etc.)
  • Experience with mini-tab, JMP statistical software is a plus.
  • Experience with SQL / R studio coding is a plus.
  • Ability to work on-site 20-25 hours a week - preferably Tuesday - Thursday.
