Job Description

The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible and accountable for food safety and quality by performing functions to analyze nonconforming conditions found during production to determine root cause and ensure Quality Assurance programs, systems, and products are manufactured to meet customer specifications and to achieve superior quality and reliability levels.

Job Functions:

  • Analyze nonconforming conditions in production to determine root cause.
  • Communicate with process owners to resolve nonconforming conditions by developing or facilitating corrective and preventive actions.
  • Summarize and report nonconformance information and evaluate trends and major causes.
  • Summarize and report defect analyses, corrective actions, implementation status and effectiveness.
  • Develop and document control plans, which define verifications during production to ensure all stated requirements are being met.
  • Develop and document inspection and verification procedures for use by department personnel.
  • Plan and document studies of measurement repeatability and reproducibility; and process capability.
  • Perform internal audits of the quality system and verification activities; and supplier audits as requested.
  • Use inspection, measuring and test equipment as necessary.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities.
  • Responsible for the programing, training and follow up of the infinity Software program.
  • Responsible for the Oven Validation program including the utilizing of the various Data loggers.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements include:

· Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Micro-Biology, Engineering, Food Science, or a related degree and at least 3 years experience in food manufacturing

· Must be available to work some off shift and occasional, weekends and overtime as required

· Knowledge of manufacturing processes and understanding of food science and food safety

· Knowledge of basic math, oral and written communication skills and computer literacy

· Leadership interest and ability required to work effectively with others, motivate employees and elicit work output

· MUST PASS physical, drug and background check
