Quality Assurance Consultant

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Quality Assurance Consultant with our client in the financial industry located in Newark, DE & Addison, TX. This is a 12 + month contract position.
Responsibilities:

• Key individual contributor to Quality Assurance (QA) project teams within GT&O
• Work with project teams to ensure standard Quality practices/processes are followed
• Conduct end-to-end testing on applications and technology, to ensure that business, technical, functional requirements are being met
• Design and Execute test scripts based upon test strategy/plans in an effort to identify defects prior to production (tests may be manual, automated or both)
• Assist with data management
• Responsible for ensuring on time completion of all required testing deliverables
• Expose and mitigate operational risk relative to the execution of the system test plans
• Effective at working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment managing multiple competing priorities
• Use time management skills to drive multiple project deliverables within a fast-paced environment
• Provide verbal and written executive status updates to Key stakeholders
• Ensure that any risks associated with the agreed test strategy and the system test plan are clearly documented and described to the clients/users and colleagues
• Manage all risks associated with the testing and takes preventative action when any risks become unacceptable
• Plan, arrange, and facilitate meetings, workgroups, and communications with stakeholders during test planning and throughout subsequent development and testing activities

Requirements:

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment to drive Quality goals while meeting aggressive delivery deadlines
• Knowledgeable on the principles of test management and testing process
• Excellent communication skills, written and oral
• Automation skills using automation tools beyond recording features; BDD Cucmber/ and/or Selenium advanced coding methods
• QA background with strong analytical skills, ability to decompose requirements into testable cases covering positive, negative, variety of data scenarios
• Experience in testing backend services, integrations with upstream / downstream systems
• SME expertise in Web service testing (this includes strong understanding of XML schema, tools that support testing web service interface, JSON)
• SME SQL skills including complex query writing, ability to review schema to gain understanding of DB structure, ability to use variety of SQL tools to accomplish required testing

Desired skills:

• Development / automation coding expertise with demonstration of technical skills
• 3+ years Agile Testing Process
• 1+ year Framework Creation Exposure
• 3+ years API testing Exposure
• 3+ years Automation Process
• Experience with Application Lifestyle Management (ALM) to manage testing and test reporting
• Experience with JIRA
• Experience with BDD
• Experience testing within an Agile development lifecycle
