Job Description
I. Function Summary:
The Quality Technician fills an essential role in the monitoring and advancement of our quality programs. This position ensures the integrity of our products through daily monitoring and process audits of our production. This position requires strong communication skills with all levels of our company.
II. Primary Job Functions:
1. Audit and evaluate finished products, raw materials, packaging materials and labeling for accuracy and compliance.
2. Maintain quality systems documentation, create and update approved quality procedures and specifications.
3. Complete daily Quality Control documentation to assure conformance to specifications.
4. Maintain document control program.
III. Secondary Job Functions:
1. Inspect finished product to ensure they meet quality specifications, review any discrepancies with appropriate personnel before any corrective action is taken.
2. Perform special project work as assigned by the Director of Quality and/or the Asher’s Management team.
3. Research new product concepts and flavors for confections.
4. Maintain environmental monitoring program with develop corrective actions when needed.
IV. Authority:
1. Interact with lead associates and line personnel to ensure quality standards are being achieved.
V. Performance and Accountability:
1. Ensure that safe practices are being followed at all times during the manufacturing process.
2. Maintain a positive, professional attitude and appearance at all times.
3. Develop a proactive approach to creating a continuous improvement environment.
4. Required to possess and demonstrate a restless sense of urgency on the timeliness and quality of their work.
5. Must bring a positive attitude (can do and what can I do to help) to their job. Bring a positive disposition and attitude when interacting with Asher’s team members at all times.
Requirements:I. Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Food Science preferred or Experience in Food Manufacturing.
2. Strong knowledge of food safety principles.
3. High level of organizational skills, strong written and verbal communication, problem solving and commitment to company goals required.
