Job Description
3 MONTH ASSIGNMENT:
Responsibilities:
1. Execute elements of the client Manufacturing’s Quality Assurance manual and Quality Assurance procedures pertaining to the VALIDATION Testing of specific products in house.
2. Perform in-process and End of Line product VALIDATION testing, primarily utilizing check fixture, and hydro testing. Perform additional product testing (NDT and others) as required from time to time.
3. Verify finished product’s dimensions and their conformance with drawings, work order specifications.
4. Conduct visual Inspection of welded joints (weld size, bead formation, weld penetration), groove and other product features ensuring compliance. Visually inspect to detect flaws (cracks, cold weld, spatter, and undercuts, etc. per ES1124 and other specifications) using flashlight and magnifying glass.
5. Maintain records of inspections and results.
6. Assist in inspecting and releasing of finished Victaulic products after ensuring compliance to ALL (drawings, PO, WO, Specifications, Standards, MTR, etc..) requirements both dimensionally and documentation wise. Document in software platform and disposition results.
7. Assist with calibration of all inspection instruments and gauges as appropriate.
8. Assist with the training of production employees.
9. Conduct auditing in both products and processes and prepare findings report as required.
10. Communicate and interact with shift supervisors, operations manager, engineering and other quality personnel about quality related issues and perform other duties as required and as per direction from management.
Qualifications (education, experience, skills, personal attributes):
1. High School Diploma or equivalency
2. Experience in a manufacturing/steel fabrication environment is preferred.
3. Experience with product validation testing, machine/tester/fixture set-up and knowledge preferred.
4. Computer literacy of Microsoft Windows software such as Microsoft Office Suite required.
5. Working knowledge of arc welding processes for carbon, stainless and alloy metals preferred.
6. Familiarity with liquid and powder type coatings preferred.
7. Familiarity with ASTM specifications, AWWA standards and AWS/ASME welding codes desired.
8. Able to physically perform testing: dye-penetrant, magnetic particle, dry film thickness and others that may be required by the specifications.
9. Good understanding of shop math (fraction to decimal) and ability to read tape measure, and measuring tools (caliper, micrometers) preferred.
10. Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints desired.
11. Good written and oral communication skills required.
12. Good problem-solving capabilities desired.
13. Must be able to work independently, efficiently and be self-motivated and detail oriented
