Job Status: Full-time Permanent Position
JOB DESCRIPTION: The Quality Associate has the responsibility to review and update technical documentation for all nutraceutical ingredients manufactured and distributed by the company. The associate will be an integral part of the team working with customers, product managers, customer service reps and facility staff touching different areas of the business including FDA compliance.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION
Certificates of Analysis (C/A)
- Ensure conformance of C/A's to established specifications
- Check incoming shipment C/A's against specification or C/A of previous lot of product received
- Communicate with manufacturers or vendors any non-conformances, and ensure receipt of revised C/A's
- Maintain 'Manufacturers C/A s' folder on common drives
- Save incoming shipment- C/A's within ERP system and common drives
- Attach C/A copy to purchase order in ERP system
- Review C/A's for shipments to specific customers
- Refer to available customer specifications/ C/A's of previously shipped lots to ensure conformance
- Maintain product specifications in current versions
- Establish specifications based on manufacturers' C/A's
- Create and sign specification sheets for products
- Establish specifications based on manufacturers' C/A's
- Maintain 'Customer Specifications' folder
- Record new product specifications or other requirements for customers
- Request new/ updated documents from manufacturers to assure FSVP compliance
- Save documents on share drives in designated folders
- Nutritional statements- calculate nutrition facts for formulations
- Compose Product Statements based on information obtained from manufacturers
- Review manufacturer documents for consistency and accuracy
- Respond to technical inquiries
- Handle product questionnaires
- Responsible for accuracy of information forwarded to customers
- Review questionnaires completed by manufacturer to ensure accuracy and consistency prior to saving or forwarding to customers
- Monthly review of Kosher program with Rabbi
- Maintain current Kosher certificates on server
- Submit Kosher certification applications for new products
- Order office supplies and other purchasing requests from various departments when needed.
- Receiving and organizing inbound samples and COA/SDS
- Assist with internal and external (customer and annual third party) audits
- Other tasks as assigned
Bachelor's degree in science-related field of study and/or work experience in a manufacturing/distribution environment a plus. This position requires someone that is highly organized and possesses strong written and verbal communication skills. Communicates information professionally and follows up in a clear and timely manner. Excellent attention to detail, analytical, organizational and time management skills. S/he should have good interpersonal skills and a passion for providing excellent service. Positive, energetic and enthusiastic attitude, proactive, responsible, results driven, problem/solution oriented, flexible to the needs of the business. Strong computer skills (MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
