Qualified Medication Assistant, QMA day-to-day will include:
- Accurately and safely prepare, administer, and document the oral and/or topical medications that are commonly used in this health campus and that may be ordered for resident use by the attending physician or the Medical Director.
- Follow the medication card practices of the facility.
- Follow the facility procedure for recording the order in the resident’s clinical record, including the type, route, dosage, frequency and strength of each medication.
- Accurately measure, record, and report the vital signs of residents.
- Helps residents maintain independence, promotes dignity and physical safety of each resident.
- Practices good standard care precautions of cleanliness, hygiene and health.
- Greets and assists all internal and external customers, guests, family members, residents, vendors and team members.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for a part time and full time Qualified Medication Assistant, QMA for our evening shift.
Fresh out of school? Come learn the trade from experienced Qualified Medication Assistant staff willing to share their skills.
Years of experience? Join our Nursing team who will appreciate your expertise.
- Strong interpersonal skills, especially when it comes to delivering sensitive information to patients and/or families.
- Ability to think critically under pressure.
- Must have and maintain a current, valid QMA license.
- Possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
- Be able to make independent decisions concerning above job duties.
- Possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family member, visitors, government agencies/personnel, vendors, and the general public.
- Be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
Schedule needs:
- 8 or 12 hour shifts
- Full time and Part time QMA availability
- Rotating Holiday Schedule
- Weekend availability
