Job Description and Duties:
*The job requires protective oversight with additional responsibilities for medication and response to medications including chronic disease, pain management and temporary orders for acute illness or disease.
*The job requires the Personal Care Worker (PCA) to perform a number of physical tasks such as lifting and transferring or assisting a resident in their activities daily living (ADL's). Must have an active CPR/First Aid Certification.
*Working with elderly requires aides to have a friendly, patient and compassionate disposition with residents. Personal Worker (PW) must be able to have a good customer service skills and phone etiquettes.
General:
*Must be able to respond to the needs of residents in timely manner to anticipate needs and desires including orientation to time, day of the week and activities.
*Must be able to safely ambulate, lift assistance, provide First Aid and CPR (community level) *Must be able to respond in safe manner to physical, cognitive or behavioral emergencies.
*Must be able to document daily needs, calendar and incident reports.
*Must be able to orient new residents and families to the facility.
QMAP Documentation:
*Must be able to read, transcribe and coordinate all medical orders. Orders must remain in the scope of practice and be completed in a timely manner. Outlier situations must be commincated to their physician, pharmacist or consultant in a timely manner.
*Must be able to set up safe medication tool for passes with authorized agents.
*Must be able to react to an emergency situation including resident informations, MARS and supportive orders.
Additional Duties:
*Help residents with mobility restrictions to get out of bed, bathe, dress, and groom and manage toileting.
*Deliver basic health services like recording pulse rate, temperature, respiration rate, blood pressure and weekly weight. *Be able to demonstrate measures that calm, supports and guide resident responses.
*Help with prescribed exercises, fall prevention and general strengthening.
*Provide light housekeeping and homemaking tasks as assigned *Meal preparation and resident support (meals, snacks, beverages, etc.) *Support activities and community engagement.
*Interface with families, vendors, guests and medical/behavioral professionals.
*Communicate changes with supervisors, QMAP, Administrator and Owner
*Be able to follow written protocl=ol for communication with EMS or home based medical/behavioral health staff or notify Administrator of Communication
