Personal Care Products Co. Quality Control Manager – Ottawa, IL

Our client is a growing company the in the Personal Care Products industry. This position is in Ottawa, IL (85 miles SW of downtown Chicago) and has an immediate need for a Quality Control Manager. The Quality Control Manager develops, establishes procedures, and quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure that the organization’s Quality Management System conforms to customer, internal, ISO 9001, cGMP (21 CFR 211) / ISO22716, and regulatory/legal requirements.
• Ensure evaluation of, and reporting on, vendor quality systems.
• Oversee inspection (examination) of incoming materials, ensuring that they meet requirements.
• Manage the monitoring, measurement, and review of internal processes, especially those that affect the quality of the organization’s products.
• Lead a team of Quality engineers, inspectors, auditors, analysts, and technicians
• Report on the performance of the QMS (e.g., results of quality audits, corrective actions), including the need for improvement.
• Conduct periodic management review meetings.
• Oversee product recalls.

Requirements of the position:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Quality Assurance
• 10+ Years of Quality Assurance / Quality Control Experience.

Preferred Certifications:

• Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or similar certification such as:
• Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt
• Black Belt or Green Belt
• CQA or CQM
• Current membership with ASQ or ISPE.
