This is an exciting career opportunity to work in a pH electrode manufacturing facility! We are looking for a QC Technician responsible for the preparation of chemical solutions, gelatins and powder mixtures required for the manufacture and testing of our electrodes.
A Day in the Life:
- Be responsible for the preparation of solutions, gelatins, and powder mixtures vital for the assembly and chemical testing of the electrodes.
- Manage of raw materials and inventory in a kanban system.
- Maintain electronic data base of contracts to ensure procurement is aware of upcoming expiration dates.
- Recognize and report out-of-specification or unexpected results. Clearly and accurately communicate the results of work by generating documentation of the testing/analysis and acquired results. Record and report results of analysis in accordance with prescribed lab procedures and systems.
- Use analytical balance, pH meters, multimeters, high resistance meters, rulers, calipers, thermometers and any other measuring instrument required.
- Record data in laboratory notebooks.
- Keep the inspection equipment and your work area clean and organized.
- Perform your work efficiently and safely.
- Responsible for performing all tasks consistent with the code of ethics and values (4i) of the company.
Keys to Success:
Education
- High School diploma or GED required. Associate's Degree preferred.
Experience
- 2 years of experience in an analytical laboratory (weighing, measuring, taking aliquots, pipette, and mixing), a combination of additional education with laboratory studies can be considered).
- Knowledge of Oral and written knowledge in Spanish and English.
- Use of computer system to check your emails, complete online training, your self-assessment (PMD) or other requirements.
- Practical knowledge of units of measurement and basic mathematical skills.
- Be organized, responsible, and able to meet production needs.
- Basic arithmetic skills.
Physical Requirements
- Use of Safety Personal Protection Equipment is required while the assigned tasks are carried out, and they must be trained and able to follow the safety procedures.
- Willing to work overtime in the short term notice, this may include but is not limited to weekends.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and perform multiple tasks.
- Ability to accurately follow processes and procedures.
- Lifting objects up to 40 pounds.
