Overview
The quality lead plays a pivotal role in ensuring the production of high-quality products at BAK. This position aids in the report out of quality assurance metrics, conducts internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance or work instructions, and serves as a positive leader and mentor by exhibiting and instructing desirable behaviors and skill sets to our employees. We are searching for a quality Inspector Lead to join our Night Shift team.
Essential Functions
- Maintain a safe, clean work environment; address any unsafe conditions or behaviors with a supervisor.
- Aid in the report out of quality assurance metrics to gauge progress on internal and/ or external issues.
- Propose product or process improvements that will minimize quality defects, both internal and external.
- Conduct internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance to work instructions and controlled drawings.
- Provide support and documentation required to maintain ISO certification.
- Utilize Lean principles to establish quality assurance processes.
- Ensure engineering specifications are understood by operators and properly applied in the assembly process.
- Interface with shop floor personnel to teach and train quality or other product issues encountered.
- Inspire, motivate, and lead others in utilizing Lead manufacturing tools to deliver results.
- Organize materials at the workstation and department according to 6S standards.
- Provide expert guidance and final decision on quality-related concerns.
- Serve as a positive leader and mentor by exhibiting and instructing desirable behaviors and skill sets.
- Implement work instructions to ensure employee knowledge and accuracy is up to date.
- Perform other related duties as assigned through on-the-job training.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of two years in manufacturing and production with some leadership responsibilities.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent lifting of 50 pounds or less, occasional lifting of 51 pounds or more.
- Standing and walking throughout the duration of the shift is required.
- Repetitive use of hands and fingers; able to reach with hands and arms; and use of vision.
