ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. This position is a working Supervisor who performs and coordinates daily, weekly, and monthly activities of the STCAT group.
  2. Ensures proper tracking, analyzing, and reporting of all abnormal batches. Must be able to monitor abnormal data for trends and determine high priority issues for further improvement projects through creation of reports to Manager.
  3. Create, modify, implement, and remove (if necessary) any process, procedure, or SOP as needed for continuous improvement of the STCAT group including training of QC Correction Specialists/QC Correction Technicians.
  4. Primary responsibility for the investigation, corrective action, and preventative action for all abnormalities assigned in the database for both paint and dispersion manufacturing.
  5. Primary responsibility for prioritizing all workloads to ensure timely resolution to all abnormalities. Ability to make sound Quality batch decisions with the information available regardless of impact.
  6. Primary responsibility for master reviews and master / window updates.
  7. Good understanding of customer root cause investigation methodologies (5-why, 5P, Apollo, 8D, etc).
  8. Be able to differentiate between root causes and symptoms of issues.
  9. Makes formula tune-ups and specification changes in SAP as necessary.
  10. Must be able to understand and use loading charts for key paint technologies.
  11. Gatekeeper for formula holds written by STCAT group. Must ensure hold resolution in an effective and timely manner.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Develop and maintain an effective department through the selection, training, compensation, motivation, and review of all assigned employees.

  1. Supervise 1-2 Team Members
  2. Prioritize workload for the STCAT group.
  3. Understanding and enforcement of company policies.
  4. Project collaboration with all internal departments.
  5. Proper support scheduling for all shifts.

  1. Administer performance management reviews / appraisals.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
The individual must be able to perform each essential job duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The following requirements are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities needed to perform the job at a fully acceptable level.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR CERTIFICATION
  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 7 years automotive coatings experience in Manufacturing, Technical, or Quality.
  • 5 years experience in area of color review and approving color.
  • Previous supervisor experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of SPP, LPP, Milling, Resin, and Shading departments.
