THIS IS A NON-EXEMPT POSITION
Summary
Plans, coordinates, and directs quality assurance programs designed to ensure quality food production. Consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the Following. – (Other duties may be assigned)
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
• Assist QA / Regulatory Manager with the planning, prioritizing, and completing of tasks.
• Manage finished product sample inventory and sample retention procedures.
• Competent in microbial aseptic techniques.
• Perform finished product testing encompassing physiochemical and microbiological procedures.
• Evaluate test results and communicate deviations from the product specifications to the QA /Regulatory Manager.
• Complete Certificates of Analysis and other document requests/needs.
• Implement and manage the work order program specific to changes in product formulation, packaging and/or other alterations as necessary.
• Recommend changes in procedures, standards, test methods and equipment to improve quality.
• Familiar with experimental design, standard laboratory data logging and reporting. Maintain Laboratory in accordance to ISO Standards.
• Administer QA archives, including but not limited to filing and retrieving archival materials.
• Review and update vendor documentation including HACCP, GFSI audit, GMP, Halal, Kosher, etc.
• Support and comply with all quality management systems, continuous improvement programs, food safety, employee safety and preventative maintenance programs.
• Support and comply with current FSMA and other regulations.
• Follow all company policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience -
Bachelor’s degree in food science, nutrition, biology, microbiology, biochemistry, pharmaceutical science from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
