Position Overview: 

 

Summit Line Construction is seeking a Quality Assurance & Quality Compliance (QA/QC) Program Manager. This position requires strong managerial skills and a commitment to safety and quality. You will oversee all QA/QC Inspectors within the organization as well as oversee quality standards to ensure we provide our clients with the highest level of quality and service.

 


Responsibilities:

  • Develop a QA/QC program to support our ever-growing organization which includes 6 offices and a total staff of 1,000 employees.
  • Oversee the QA/QC team
  • Interview and hire Quality Inspectors to support field work.
  • Establish quality standards and processes to be followed by all team members.
  • Ensure accurate and timely quality management on construction projects.
  • Review QA/QC reports to ensure compliance with internal process and external standards.
  • Report any issues or pertinent findings to executive leadership and clients as needed.
  • Audit projects to identify gaps in QA/QC procedures and provide consultative solutions.
  • Ensure projects are staffed with the correct QA/QC resources and that they are properly trained and directed to complete projects within budget and on time.
  • Lead monthly QA/QC meetings to provide feedback on QC reports that reinforce activities that are being constructed in conformance with each specific project's established standard and constructively confronts non-conformances to produce the desired outcome in a timely manner.
  • Write and maintain quality management documents including manuals, checklists, plans, and procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the construction organization.
  • Travel across Mountain States and West Coast to visit job sites and customers as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Experience developing QA/QC programs and procedures is required
  • Experience in QA/QC inspection
  • Knowledgeable in electric utility principals and hazards associated with transmission, distribution, and substation work
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Able to utilize a laptop or tablet with ease while visiting job sites
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints/schematics, specifications, and implement processes to deliver what is expected
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly verbally and in writing
  • Strong ability with numbers and data analysis skills

  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and able to adapt to changing customer needs

 

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction, civil, or architectural engineering or construction management, or equivalent experience
  • At least 10 years of experience in electrical utility construction with a focus on Transmission, Distribution or Substation
  • At least 7 years of experience in QA/QC
