Job Description
QA/Infection Control Nurse - RN
To consult the assigned facilities on Quality Assurance functions in accordance with current Federal, State, and local standards governing long-term care facilities to ensure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to the residents at all times.
Qualifications
- Must be a Registered Nurse in good standing and meet all applicable Federal and State Licensure requirements (RN)
- Geriatric nursing background preferred
- Working knowledge of Federal and State regulations for long-term care
- Significant technical experience, restorative care philosophy, and excellent clinical skills
- Must have patience, tact, enthusiasm, and positive attitude toward the elderly and disabled
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, evaluate, and interpret information, and make independent decisions.
- Professional appearance and behavior
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
- Must be capable of performing the Essential Job Functions and Physical and Sensory Requirements for All Job Functions as outlined below.
Standard Requirements
Report to Management immediately all instances of abuse, neglect, misappropriation/handling of resident property, or other concerns such as inadequate staffing, etc.
Participate in all investigations as required.
Support, cooperate with, and implement specific procedures and programs for:
Safety, including standard precautions and safe work practices, established fire/safety/disaster plans, risk management, and security, report and/or correct unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs.
Maintain confidentiality of all data, including resident, employee, and operations data and comply with HIPAA Privacy and Security.
Comply with all Quality Assurance and regulatory requirements.
Comply with current law and policy to provide a work environment free from harassment, and all illegal and discriminatory behavior.
Comply with all company policies and procedures regarding HIPAA Privacy and Security, the company’s Corporate Compliance and Quality Assurance program requirements.
Essential Job Functions
Perform MDS audits as assigned
Chart audits for MDS identifying areas that need improvement / change.
Monitor and work with facility staff to assure compliance with State and Federal regulations.
Provide written reports of audit results timely
Monitor and work with facility on general resident care.
