Qa Technician

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for assisting with implementing and supporting Company standards to ensure quality specifications for packaging, raw ingredients, and finished products are met and food safety of processed products is upheld. Monitor and sample quality control plans and process control procedures to ensure production of finished product is to standard.

• Starting pay is $22.00 up to $25.00 an hour
• Located 10 minutes from downtown St. Paul
• Schedule: Monday-Friday; must be able to on Sundays as needed
• Hours: 7:00PM - 3:30AM or end of shift; must be flexible with end time

• Responsible for facilitating production startup and shut down
• Assist with pulling random samples for testing, monitor finished products for quality and compliance with specification
• Enforce team member compliance with GMP and safety regulations
• Perform sporadic maintenance on metal detectors and sanitation delivery systems.
• Daily Checklist – Check scale calibration, check cooler temperatures, Check utensil and environmental sanitizer concentrations, Monitor the brix of pre-processed fruits.
• Hourly Checklist – Check flume tanks, verify and set metal detector, check product temperatures, check product packaging seals
• Weekly Checklist – Check accuracy of thermometers, maintain eyewash station water levels 
• Maintain a safe working environment to reduce injuries and workers compensation claims.
• Food Safety as it relates to this position.
• All other duties assigned.

• B.A or B.S in food science preferred OR High School diploma with a minimum of 1 year related experience required
• USDA experience is highly preferred
• Ability to read and write English
• Knowledge in areas pertaining to GMP, HACCP, food microbiology and general food safety
• Food safety program experience preferred
• Environment is cold (approximately 38 degrees)
• Requires standing and/or walking for long periods of time
• Problem solving skills, strong attention to details and ability to multitask
• Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively
• Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly
• Must be willing to help correct safety issues
• Must be able to work with limited supervision.
