Job description

We're looking for an individual with flexible skills who can provide support in the following areas to help us meet our mission:
DUTIES:
  • Supervises the day to day activities of the Compliance Department
  • Enters new/revised documents into the Document Control module
  • Develops validation protocols and equipment qualifications; assists other departments with Equipment Qualifications and Process Validations
  • Oversees the Seroconversion Lookback Process
  • Oversees QA review of Product Quality Control in HemaComply
  • Schedules and performs internal audits of MBS collection and manufacturing/distribution operations
  • Schedules and performs audits of MBS suppliers; maintains the QPulse Supplier module
  • Writes and/or updates Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Performs biennial review of departmental SOPs
  • Assists in the Donor Reinstatement Process to determine donor's eligibility for re-entry
  • Counsels donors regarding positive test results, various deferral issues, and eligibility status (via telephone and in person).
  • Other duties, as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum: Bachelor's degree required in Medical/Clinical Laboratory Science or related field and at least 2 years of experience in blood bank or related setting.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) certification and prior Quality Assurance management and/or supervisory experience are highly desired.

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding blood bank and/or blood center operations
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of basic quality principles
  • Competent with word-processing, database and spreadsheet computer applications
  • Ability to work independently and without supervision
