Position Summary: Quality Assurance Manager
As a pivotal member of our site leadership team, the Quality Assurance Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, wholesomeness, and compliance of our products with all applicable standards. The successful candidate will lead the site team in cultivating a culture of best-in-class quality, influencing and coaching to drive continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include implementing quality systems and initiatives, overseeing production, packaging, receipt, storage, and release of food products. Building strong cross-departmental relationships is essential to create a culture where safety, quality, and productivity goals are met.
Essential Functions:
Compliance Leadership: Oversee all aspects of company Quality Assurance, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal food safety standards.
Cultural Development: Contribute to the development and maintenance of a culture where quality production is a top priority, fostering a spirit of continuous improvement.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor and improve performance across production areas, responding to risk assessments, ingredient testing, and incidents.
Program Implementation: Implement programs to ensure compliance with 3rd party industry standards (e.g., AIB, SQF, etc.).
Initiative Leadership: Lead SQF, FSMA, and HACCP initiatives, driving continuous improvement efforts and facilitating, organizing, training, and advising.
Audit and Compliance: Lead customer and regulatory audits, escalating and resolving quality control and food safety issues.
Knowledge Enhancement: Stay updated on trends affecting food safety, recommending, and implementing appropriate program additions and changes.
Requirements:
Education: B.S. or B.A. in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutritional Science, Food Engineering, Food Chemistry, Culinary Science, Agricultural Science, Biotechnology or equivalent.
Expertise in the Food, Supplement, or related industries
Certifications: PCQI and HACCP certified desired
Knowledge of  SQF, FDA (FSMA), HACCP, CAPA and other regulatory and industry guidelines.
