Form of workQA Lab Technician Night Shift
Job Summary:
To ensure that parts being produced, reworked, or receiving secondary operations, conform to all of the inspection criteria.
Job Duties:
1. Inspection of parts from each press at designated intervals.
2. Start-up approvals and last shot inspections.
3. Performing S.P.C. (Statistical Process Control)
4. Monitor SPC data and turn on DataMyte limits when applicable.
5. Complete containment of suspect product when defects are detected.
6. Generate Internal Corrective Action Report when necessary.
7. Continuous upkeep of all inspection records, logs, and retains.
8. Marking, tagging, and maintaining of reference samples.
9. Follow instruction, and procedures for all aspects of the job.
10. Leading the shift pass-down meetings at the end of the shift.
11. Ensuring that necessary issues are communicated to the Shift Supervisor and the QA Floor Technician.
12. Other duties that may be assigned by the QA Manager.
Interaction:
1. Inform QA Manager of quality problems on the floor (including S.P.C. out of control conditions).
2. Explain to each shift the quality requirements of parts being produced.
Qualifications:
1. High School education or equivalent.
2. Minimum one (1) year experience in an injection molding environment.
3. Minimum one (1) year experience in Q.A. environment.
4. Experience with use of optical inspection equipment
5. Experience with incoming inspection.
6. Must be able to interact with people well.
* Any of the above can be deviated depending on the person’s ability to learn.
Accountabilities:
1. To ensure that all parts produced meet all of the inspection criteria.
2. To ensure that finished secondary parts meet customer requirements.
3. To isolate, and properly tag all questionable received components and parts.
4. To assist the Shift Supervisor in making sure that things are being done right the first time.
Job Specifications:
- Must be able to use various types of inspection equipment such as: micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gages, vision machine, comparators, gage pins, gage blocks, personal computers, calculators, etc.
- Must have an understanding of S.P.C.
- Must be able to read blueprints.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Must be able to judge subtle variations in color (color testing to be performed after hiring and to be repeated every two (2) years.
