Position Summary: The QA Floor Inspector inspects aircraft and provides inspection guidance on all aspects of aircraft maintenance; determines equipment malfunctions on the shop floor prior to the final return to service; and provides instruction and training to inspection staff on new inspection techniques and practices. Position Responsibilities: Works in coordination with the Chief Inspector to deliver the highest quality inspection and maintenance of aircraft, components, and accessories. Provides review of daily activities, problems, and concerns to the Chief Inspector.
Inspects aircraft repairs and alterations the shop floor throughout the entire Wipaire campus prior to return to airworthiness. Verifies repairs are in accordance with manufacturer and FAA regulations Verifies repairs meet the most current technical data available. Signs off various inspections accordingly per the 145 Repair Station manual, including any signoffs in the system.
Provides updates to inspectors and technicians as needed. Monitors critical operations closely for positive outcomes Alerts technicians and inspectors of new processes, regulations, and changes that will affect their daily work. Acts as a liaison for manufacturer interaction to include: phone calls, e-mails, fax or other communication in order to effectively communicate technical data as required and in a timely manner.
Reviews and assists in interpreting MFG data via use of service documentation, service manuals, IPC, Structural Repair Manual, etc. Reviews and assists in interpreting FAA data and documentation, airworthiness directives, FAR's, AC43.131B, Advisory Circulars, etc. Reports technical issues to Chief Inspector and Floor Supervisor.
Reports employee issues to Chief Inspector for resolution. Participates in fault investigations as needed to assist in learning root cause of issues. Conducts on the job training for less experienced technicians and inspectors.
Serves as a back up for return to service of aircraft work packages during co-worker's absence from the QC office, as needed. Responsible for input and perspective on manufacturer's service documentation for maintenance personnel. Responsible for input and perspective on all FAA documents and their intent.
Assists in diagnosing and troubleshooting aircraft and engine systems for timely results. Maintains effective relationships with other management, staff and departments to deliver high quality service to the organization.
