Job Description
- Position Summary:The QA Documentation Specialist works directly with the QA Supervisor and QA Manager to ensure product safety and quality programs and systems are met for all products produced by Chairmans Foods. The position manages the documentation function in accordance with organizational policies and goals in addition to developing standards of documentation methods to effectively communicate all needed information across all areas of the company through effective maintenance of the documentation programs within the quality and certification programs.
- Roles/Responsibilities:
- Review all Critical Control Point (CCP) monitoring and verification records to ensure compliance with HACCP critical limits and frequencies, as required by the HACCP plan
- Monitor HACCP and PRPs to ensure procedures are properly carried out.
- Review and evaluate all records for accuracy and completeness and determine need for process improvement
- Ensure all food safety-related documents and records are controlled and that current issues are in use
- Notate any information missing/improperly completed and communicate to QA Manager/Production Manager any needed corrections/adjustments
- Environmental monitoring
- Ensure that microbiological environmental monitoring and analysis is performed according to Chairmans Guidelines and adheres to all applicable regulatory requirements
- Provide training for staff at all levels regarding Food Safety and Quality programs and documentation
- Lead internal audit program
- Identify team members and provide training for internal audit team
- Conduct, complete, and provide actionable audit reports of Quality System modules to Quality Manager
- Will work closely with and take direction from QA supervisor to ensure standards are met
- Manage documentation control process for all programs, policies, and documentation that support regulatory and certification compliance
- Primary contact for investigating/responding to customer/consumer complaints
- Environmental monitoring
- Conduct mock recalls
- Review Hold Log daily
- Assist with preparedness for all external audits
- Will assist with conducting GMP/FST as needed
- May assist on the production floor as needed
- Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience with HACCP documentation and record keeping
- Detail oriented, able to interpret data
- Self-motivated to produce results
- Must work with a sense of urgency; time management skills are essential
- Able to communicate effectively with others - written, verbal, listening
- Availability to work outside of normally scheduled shift hours and work overtime when required
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in a food processing plant environment required
- Familiarity with HACCP required, HACCP certification preferred
- Familiarity with SQF and BRC required, SQF certification preferred.
