Job Overview:

The Quality Assurance Compliance Manager is responsible for the conformity and risk assessment of all UNFI Brands, including manufacturers and associated products. Responsible for maintaining documentation compliance, supplier and legal benchmarks, customer technical requests, and labeling reviews. This position is a key liaison with cross-functional internal and external partner

Job Responsibilities:

Regulatory Oversight

       Responsible for UNFI Brands Foreign Supplier Verification Program, including management of documentation and executing risk assessments

       Work directly with UNFI Legal, Global Trade Compliance, and Food Safety to enable resolution of federal and state verification requests

       Responsible for upholding UNFI Brands Vendor Audit Policy that requires all suppliers and accompanying facilities to maintain GFSI/GMP certification

       Determine overall UNFI Brands conformity and communicate high-level concerns to management.

       Manage QAI Organic compliance for Blue Marble Brands through Dayville, CT distribution center.

       Oversee general maintenance of Kosher, Organic, and other 3rd Party certificates for all accompanying items.

       Establish and maintain compliance documentation database for all UNFI Brands.

       Review supplier quality documentation and determine appropriate actions, including additional product testing, necessary for product release

       Assist QA Specialists with supporting documentation to enable product recall resolution.

       Direct PD/QA to meet timing and information gathering accountabilities.

       Independently troubleshoot complex regulatory inquiries and issues with minimal oversight

Sales Operations

       Support Brands+ Sales Operations with frequent, ad hoc customer requests

       Assist with resolution of key customer sales requests, including creation and collection of technical documentation

       Collaborate   with   UNFI   International   technical   team   to   enable   new   or   continued   international   sales opportunities.

Growth Channels

       Maintain pulse on state and federal rules and regulations, communicating impact to UNFI Brands

       Performs other relevant job duties as required

Job Requirements:

 

Education/ Certifications: (Required/Preferred-list requirement is required or preferred)

       Bachelor's Degree in scientific field required

       FSPCA Preventative Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) active certification

Experience:

       5-7 years of relevant food industry experience required

       Exhibit a deep technical knowledge of HACCP and FSMA HARPC based principles, GMPs, SOPs, and other applicable operating control processes

 

Skills/ Abilities:

       Be self-motivated and capable of working independently, as well as motivating others and directing others to attain the goals that are set for the department

       Act with a high sense of urgency, customer focus and organization skills

       Contribute to a cooperative, teamwork atmosphere, possessing the ability to work in cooperation with others effectively to achieve desired results

       Adaptable to shifting priorities and innovative with solutions

       Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills

       Comfortable presenting in front of large groups and executive leadership

       Proficiency with Microsoft Office required

       Valid driver's license

       Hybrid to full remote status

       Business travel is minimal, under 10%
