Job Summary
The QA Airworthiness Liaison will help create plans that support the audit scope and ensure the framework allows enough time to satisfactorily complete audit assignments. This role involves comprehensive planning considerations including manpower, transportation options, lodging, and audit location logistics. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance and aviation regulations, ensuring compliance with airworthiness standards.
Responsibilities
- Create and support audit plans, ensuring comprehensive coverage of the audit scope.
- Consider manpower, timeframes, air and ground transportation options, and lodging.
- Gather audit location organizational contact information and complete flight schedules.
- Review external service provider job functions such as aviation security and ground handling.
- Monitor IFQP-FQPS fuel service provider status.
- Ensure compliance with country or station entry document requirements (passport, visa, facility, ramp apron permits).
- Meet vaccination and health requirements for audit locations.
- Monitor weather forecasts and assess political and socio-economic stability.
- Account for country holidays during audit planning.
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Technology, or Management.
Minimum Experience
- Seven (7) years of professional transport air carrier experience in Quality Assurance, Engineering, or Quality Assurance Planning involving large multi-engine aircraft.
- Experience in the inspection of transport category aircraft and maintenance documentation for airworthiness and regulatory concerns under FAR Part 121 and Part 39 requirements.
- Experience interacting with various levels of the FAA including the FSDO/CMO and ACO branches.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint applications.
- Experience interpreting ADs, AMOCs, engineering documents, WIC, OEM specifications, and FAA regulatory documents.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Airframe and Powerplant certificate required.
- Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
- Adept planning, analytical, and communication skills.
- Strong familiarity with 14CFR 121 and Part 39 requirements.
Job Conditions
- Ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision, with various levels of airline management, the FAA, and external customers, using acquired experience, diplomacy, and good judgment to accomplish assignments.
