Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop skills in various supply chain management activities, including:
- Job shadowing in Production Control, Inventory Control, and Purchasing roles.
- Orientation to various roles within the Purchasing department.
- Vendor tours and meetings.
- Cost analysis projects.
- Processing quotes before review.
- Orientation to team interactions within the operations department.
Additional Opportunities (as available):
- Based on KSAs, buying and expediting.
- Spend analysis.
- Tool kit creation & evaluation.
- Material inventory tracking.
- Assist in inventory management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Intern will be a junior in college majoring in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Background in manufacturing practices desirable.
- Must have strong analytical & quantitative skills.
- MicroSoft Office Outlook, Excel & Access experience & proficiency is required.
- Ability to work in AS400 and MicroSoft Ax.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment, as well as the ability to effectively handle multiple projects & priorities.
- Self-motivation, willingness to learn & grow, and a strong work ethic is required.
- Possess excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills as a successful candidate must be able to work with and assist others and be comfortable with presentation skills.
Work Requirements
- This position may require sitting, standing, working in front of a computer monitor in an office setting approximately 50% of the day and occasionally, working in a hot, humid manufacturing environment.
- This position is a 5 day a week job with 8 hour days. Start time will be determined in conjunction with the supervisor. Typical starting times are between 6-7 am.
- This position will last approximately 3 months. Internship start and end dates to be determined at time of offer.
