Education & Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate Degree (AS/AA); preferred and
- 2-5 years of Materials analyst Experience (Automotive Preferred); OR
- Any combination of experience and education. AND
- Must possess demonstrated analytical capability; ability to work independently; excellent written and oral communication, proficient using MS Office products such as Word, Excel, etc.; ability to manage multiple tasks at once; must be willing and able to learn new skills and techniques.
Primary Roles & Responsibilities:
- Working directly with raw material suppliers to develop a strong, reliable on-time delivery supply base.
- Evaluate suppliers by monitoring delivery and quality performance.
- Establish effective communication with all suppliers using networking skills to enhance supplier performance.
- Routinely coordinates logistical operations tasks with supplier counterparts and other worldwide centers of operations.
- Work closely with the engineering and quality departments during New Model activities.
- This position must effectively convey all supply chain deficiencies to operations and key staff members.
Current Job-Specific Responsibilities:
- Responsible for Safety, Quality and Productivity of production business unit
- Responsible for purchasing, analyzing, planning and demand forecasting of raw material utilizing the Material
- Requirements Planning (MRP) system in PLEX (an SAP type program).
- Import raw materials through U.S. Customs and arrange the delivery transportation: via ocean, air and ground.
- Interface on a daily basis with internal departments such as: Engineering, Sales, Warehouse Operations, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Quality, Accounting and New Model.
- Responsible for maintaining the accuracy on material pricing and resolving all invoice discrepancies with the accounting department and suppliers.
- Update information records: maintain delivery and schedule agreements; material masters and MRP views as required.
- Expedite raw materials as required.
- Create release and maintain automated purchase orders in PLEX.
- Monitor supplier shipping lanes ensuring best carrier rates are utilized while providing excellent on-time delivery service.
- Support all associated departments with change management of new model and engineering changes.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing, fabrication and production processes used in the industry; including but not limited to:
- Raw material production and sourcing
- Finished good processes
- Distribution networks
- Delivery terms and methods.
