Are you an experienced Purchasing Coordinator looking for a new and exciting opportunity? Richards Packaging, Inc PORTLAND DIVISION is seeking a dynamic and driven individual to join our team as a Purchasing Coordinator.
As a member of our purchasing team, this position performs the following duties:
- Assist with the reporting to aid in forecasting the region’s inventory needs across all categories (including glass, plastic, closures and any other inventory item purchased by Richards) with input from the sales organization.
- Ensure operational considerations such as lead time, safety stock, minimum order quantity, customer commitments/requirements, stock vs term items, etc are included in the forecasting model.
- Complete Purchase Packets across all categories (including glass, plastic, closures and any other inventory item purchased by Richards) as directed by manager. Work collaboratively with the Sales team to ensure aged inventory risk is low and profitability is maximized on any given order.
- Enter Purchase Orders into ERP system.
- Assist AP and Purchasing Manger with the processing of invoices.
- Accountable for tracking & delivery of orders to destination warehouse door using reporting and warehouse container logs.
- Compile and organize all required documents for receiving product.
- Ensure the communication of issues to appropriate sales team members and that they are addressed in a timely manner.

Experience:
- Minimum 2+ years in purchasing, inventory planning, or supply chain management in a distribution environment.
- Work experience with glass/plastic industry is a plus.
- A university degree or college diploma or equivalent experience in the industry/market.
Requirements:
- Strong analytical / technical skills (including proficiency in excel/ERP systems).
- Ability to motivate and lead small team of coordinators.
